Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I support the studios marketing manager within the 20 Century Studios, Marvel, and Lucasfilm brands. My role is to update any tracking documents, provide support with admin tasks, and set up any necessary meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Due to the circumstances over the past year, which meant our team had less workload, I was not given as much responsibility during the placement. However, my manager helped me lead a few tasks and projects, such as the updating of living documents and team folders and scheduling brainstorm sessions with other interns.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

In the past few months, I have expanded my skills on Zoom, Microsoft Office, and Keynote. I also improved my note-taking and listening skills during meetings, and further developed my interpersonal skills by constantly interacting with other stakeholders during meetings as well as tasks that required teamwork.

My manager was very supportive throughout the entire placement and made sure I was also looking after my own well-being.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone is very kind and friendly. I never felt anxious about reaching out or about sharing my opinion during a meeting. However, I do feel more attention and value could be given to interns, especially considering that a lot of the company's films target our demographic.
