Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Depending on which projects I am currently working on this can vary. When I was in the cockpit team, I completed projects on the L460 range rover upper glovebox, so my day to day was to complete tests and set up meetings with relevant teams to help solve the issue. I also would have daily stand up meetings on what tasks the cockpit team needed doing for the week

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, the responsibility naturally increases as you get more comfortable in your role. I started off shdowing meetings to understand what tasks needed doing and the training required to be able to complete tasks. I eventually got all my accesses and training out of the way to work on making real part changes to current range rover and jaguar vehicles.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, I have learnt good data analysis skills, by reviewing cockpit warranty monthly spend data every week. Soft skills not taught at university such as applying engineering solutions to problems where the solution might not be so obvious, as well as communication and teamworking skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

The support was good, If I had any issues, I would know who to contact. Learning how to complete tasks was always taught to me by co workers

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture was positive, inclusive, and social. Was motivated to go into work most days due to there always being something new in the office to check out.
