Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I attended Winston Taylor’s Open Day, where I gained insight into the firm’s practice areas, culture and trainee experience through presentations and discussions with current trainees and lawyers. I participated in sessions on commercial awareness, Emerging Companies and M&A, developing my understanding of how lawyers navigate complex transactions and balance clients’ commercial objectives with legal considerations. I also gained valuable insight into the firm's early talent opportunities and application process.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was an insightful experience that deepened my understanding of the firm’s work, culture and career opportunities. Hearing directly from trainees and lawyers strengthened my motivation to apply to Winston Taylor, particularly due to its collaborative culture and exposure to complex commercial work.

I developed my commercial awareness by gaining a deeper understanding of how wider business developments influence clients’ legal needs. The Emerging Companies and M&A session particularly strengthened my ability to consider legal issues from a commercial perspective.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The firm had a welcoming, collaborative and approachable atmosphere. The trainees and lawyers were enthusiastic about sharing their experiences, which gave me a positive impression of the firm's supportive culture and strengthened my motivation to apply.
