Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the virtual internship and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
During the day, I heard from various lawyers within the firm's disputes and transactions legal teams. I also had the opportunity to take part in a commercial awareness session, geared at thinking logically and commercially about a certain topic of discussion.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The open day provided a great insight into the firm, both in terms of its commercial practice and pro bono working culture. The presentations were informative and interactive which made for a positive experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, the open day was a fantastic opportunity to develop my legal knowledge and skills further. In particular, the practical commercial awareness session provided an opportunity to work within a team, and also plan and present an argument, both of which are highly valuable in a legal career.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Company culture and general atmosphere was very friendly. There was a genuine feel that employees at the firm were passionate about speaking with people, and made time to answer any questions.

I throughly enjoyed the Open Day, both in terms of the interesting talks that were given and the commercial awareness session which added in a practical and fun element.
