Overall, how would you describe your experience at Kier Group?
Amazing, the culture is everything I've wanted in a job. My day-to-day work contributes to major construction projects in the North West, including projects in the educational, defence and commercial sectors.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Working in Digital Construction, the role revolves around BIM (Building Information Modelling), where I work the multi-disciplinary design models, where we federate them in Revizto and undertake clash detection, where design clashes are identified, addressed, and rectified, even before construction starts. I go to our sites and fly our DJI Matrice 4E drone using DroneDeploy, a cloud-software for automated flights, to map, scan and digitally record our site's progress.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I didn't quite grasp how many different pieces of software are involved in the digital role, and I had to learn all of them, I did have support around me and it wasn't long before I became confident in using them.
