Overall, how would you describe your experience at Kier Group?
I have had a very pleasant experience at Kier, the people are incredibly friendly and I have learnt a great deal in the role.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Consultant liaison, coordinating design development, managing digital and technical packages. I enjoy spending each day talking/coordinating with design team, problem solving and seeing the construction process first hand.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I get the opportunity frequently to be independent with my tasks, leasing with consultants independently and managing workstreams off of design queries. I have taken ownerships of presentation tasks, submissions and I contribute daily to design discussions.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I get a good salary - alongside this I can purchase extra annual leave, I have great insurance coverage and the pension match benefit is substantial. I also utilize the gym flex benefit which allows me to for my gym membership monthly at a reduced rate.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I feel my career is very beneficial for my professional development. I have learned a significant amount about the industry, I have developed my technical knowledge and my management skills have greatly increased.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Every day I develop my technical knowledge and often step out of my comfort zone, learning new processes.

I have a main line manger and a day to day manager that both offer me good support.
How is your work-life balance?

I mostly finish work at 5pm and dont need to do work on the weekend.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

People are friendly and understanding, the office could be more sociable but this is mainly as a result of most people coming and going for site visits.

Why?
It is a very safe and well established company in the industry. The people are very friendly, it encourages professional development and it has opportunity for substantial career progression.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I didn't know a huge amount about the role until I joined, after a while I got to know the day to day more. The recruitment process, however, was very good and the interviewers were very friendly.
