Open Day Attendee Review

The Open Day consisted of a series of panels and presentations led by Partners, Associates, Trainees and the Early Talent team. These sessions provided valuable insights into the firm’s practice areas, particularly its Disputes and Investigations team, as well as its strategy for navigating the current period of transition. We also gained practical advice on developing commercial awareness and strengthening and tailoring our future applications. Throughout the day, we had numerous opportunities to network with the firm’s representatives and fellow attendees.

The sessions helped me develop a clearer understanding of what day-to-day work at the firm might look like as a trainee, while also providing a broader perspective on the firm’s long-term strategy and objectives. I especially valued hearing from individuals at different stages of their careers, each offering a unique perspective on their professional journey and experiences at the firm. The presentations delivered by the Early Talent team were equally valuable, providing greater clarity on the recruitment process involved in pursuing a career at Winston Taylor.

We gained valuable insights into how to strengthen and tailor our future applications through presentations delivered by the Graduate Recruitment team, as well as practical advice from current trainees on developing commercial awareness.

The overall atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made it easy to feel comfortable engaging with people throughout the day. What stood out to me was how open and candid the conversations felt. Rather than giving rehearsed answers, people were honest about both the rewarding and challenging aspects of their roles, which made their enthusiasm for the firm feel particularly genuine. This left me with the impression of a supportive and approachable working culture, where people genuinely enjoy what they do.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Insight Day, and it left me with a very positive impression of the firm. I particularly appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from trainees, whose advice and personal experiences were especially helpful in understanding what working at the firm could look like for someone at my stage of their career. The event was exceptionally well organised, and the combination of insightful sessions, meaningful conversations and a friendly atmosphere made it a memorable experience.
