Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Managing the risk which traders can put on at one time. This involved:
- Analysing trading limits
- Analysing and reporting daily P&L swings
- Understanding and evaluating the trading positions and new deals of the desk
- Presenting Daily, Bi-Weekly and monthly P&L summaries to the Head of Risk and other senior stakeholders.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I found at RWE I was treated as a full member of staff. I was given all the usual tasks and responsibilities of someone in my roles.

We had a mentor and a buddy within our team to help with any queries or issues we were having. Additionally, there was always constant on the job training and training courses offered to help you in your role.

Research the company and the different branches of it. Try to learn as much as you can about the energy industry before interviews and be yourself. They want someone that fits their culture more than anything else.
