Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I mainly work in a web development agile team. Mostly I´m involved in the delivery of the front page of Skyscanner. Tasks could range from simple component implementations to investigations around new features.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

They gave me a lot of responsibility because I asked for it and it is what I want. Adding to that my team has been really supportive, and always offered me the choice to step back if I felt like the task at hand was out of my capabilities.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Definitely. So far I feel exponentially more proficient that when I joint. Skyscanner offered me the opportunity to work in really exciting projects and task that have contributed greatly to my development.

As much as I needed. In my case I´ve been pretty autonomous but they were always willing to support and help.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I cannot stress how important this part is. In my opinion skyscanner has nailed this down. I always felt welcome stress free and folks are extremely nice and friendly.
