Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The day was jam-packed with insights from Clifford Chance lawyers and prominent LGBTQ+ influencers on their experiences. We heard from the firm's graduate recruitment staff and directly from the firm's LGBTQ+ network, Arcus, about the immense effort the firm goes to to be able to truly include all people- we were really shown how diversity is in the firm's DNA. We spent time participating in talks on the experiences Black LGBTQ+ people and Trans people- both of which I found extremely interesting to learn about.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The graduate recruitment team were very thorough in their explanation of how the firm works and the roles that we can apply for. In addition to spending a day at the firm for the ACCEPT Conference, we were also offered a 3 hour application and case study workshop session which went into more detail about the roles available, how to apply to them, and support for making the most impactful application.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The firm was a very welcoming and inclusive place to be. For one of the most successful firms in the world, everyone was very down to earth and wanted us to get the most from our time there. Everyone had a great sense of humour and it felt both a encouraging and supporting place to be.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
Having interacted with this firm before, and others, I can honestly say that this was the most impactful experience of any firm that I have had. We were supported and encouraged to be our whole self and welcomed whole-heartedly into the firm! I learnt so much, met some amazing people, and I am extremely excited to pursue applying to the firm.

Be you! Show that you are passionate about working in an excellent environment and want to do the best you can for clients and colleagues. Be more than a law student or aspiring lawyer- be authentic and grounded. Ensure that applications are completed with an attention to detail and if you are successful, make sure you use the opportunity to get to know if this is really the career for you :) Good luck!
