Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

The SPARK scheme is split into a number of components; Insights, Skills, Shadowing, Buddy, Skills, and Action. Throughout the programme, I was given presentations and took part in workshops designed to improve my understanding of the firm's clients, strategy, how it functions as a business, and what I might expect to be doing as a trainee.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I worked on a number of trainee tasks independently, including redlining a legal opinion, compiling a bound volume, taking minutes of meetings, as well as several legal research projects.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

From both the Early Talent Team and my 'Buddy Bubble'. The team were very supportive throughout the scheme and were always happy to help with any questions or problems I had. The Trainee and Associate in my bubble were also happy to help despite their busy schedules, and I regularly went to them both for advice.
