Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Typically includes partnering with the Head of EMEA HR and HR COO on strategic and operational activities to keep the regional HR operating model running smoothly, leading and coordinating cross-functional HR projects (including regulatory initiatives such as pay gap and disability reporting under frameworks like OPRI), acting as project manager on large-scale HR Ventures initiatives by designing and tracking project plans, running steering committee updates, and communicating progress across HR and stakeholder groups, developing presentations and executive summaries for senior leadership meetings, managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities with strong attention to detail, leveraging AI-enabled tools to streamline analysis and workflows, and collaborating closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Functions teams to deliver outcomes.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes! The work I did I was told by my team were important live projects that would continue on after my internship finished. It feels so meaningful to have been able to take on the responsibility of working on something my team will actually use after I've left!

Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I began with no project management experience or much AI literacy, as well as not knowing much about regulatory changes or large scale projects such as mergers and acquisitions, but I've left having learnt so much about all of these and feeling comfortable in my skills in these areas. I also learnt so many soft skills such as how to adapt when communicating with different shareholders and people in the office.

To allow excitement for the role and real curiosity and personality to shine through, as well as trying to link personal stories to why the role is right for you.
