Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
Doing design calculations for structural and civil engineering. I also have multiple other roles in digital and innovation.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

3/5
I think that the length of time of the apprenticeship course becomes difficult when fixed to going to university one day a week. After multiple years of doing this it feels like groundhog day. However, the course in of itself is not bad.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
engineering, maths, programming, managing, presentation, writing, more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
the course is structured to be very regular but, like with everything, there are waves of busy times and not busy times.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I am always given enough time and support within work if it is needed.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

3/5
I think the university was supportive if needed but it was sometimes a bit unclear of where to go and emails had some delayed responses. I found it easier to get support through my work instead but it was rare to need much support.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
I think with all university qualifications, they teach you the theory but real learning happens in work. They give you the background information and understanding.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
there is loads for everything you could imagine.
