Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mott MacDonald?

I really like the company and work ethic here - everyone is very supportive and I have found the projects I've worked on really interesting.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy the variety in responsibilities and roles really enjoyable - provided opportunities to try different things and develop various skills.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
The team are really supportive and provide a range of opportunities for growth, which is really appreciated.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

3/5
The pay seems average - I would say the increase to next level doesn't seem as big as some other companies.
However the opportunity to carry over 10 days of unused AL into the next year is great.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I'd say the grad scheme sessions are mostly useful but the opportunities provided to shadow PMs and support on projects has prepared me well.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
Lots of opportunities to learn and develop through training and project work.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
When I joined I was assigned a buddy, who was great. My line managers have been fantastic, and each of the project teams have been very supportive.

How is your work-life balance?

4/5
Very good - there is a strong emphasis on maintaining a work life balance at Motts, so very rarely have to work slightly longer hours. The company supports flexible working too, so you can log on a bit earlier to leave a bit earlier etc.
Some projects are a little more demanding.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Very good - very positive and inclusive culture, and support hybrid working.

How would you rate Mott MacDonald initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
A lot of initiatives in place to support these.

How would you rate Mott MacDonald CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

4/5
Plenty of opportunities to volunteer / support CSR.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Mott MacDonald to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I really like the culture here and the support has been fantastic. I think it's a good place to start your career.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

4/5
Pretty well - I originally applied for a different team and then was recruited to the team I'm in, so it wasn't the industry I was necessarily expecting, however I really like it.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Mott MacDonald?

I'd say do some research, but ultimately just be yourself.
