Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mott MacDonald?
Excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a graduate at Mott MacDonald - to the extent that I'm still here 5 years on! The level of care and attention my team gave me has always been great, the social life is amazing and my own opportunities for progression have been good.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Graduate Management Consultant - liaising with clients, policy and strategy setting, implementation and change. I most enjoyed coming to data-driven decisions and presenting these to a client.
Social Value Consultancy - after graduating from the scheme, I transferred into a Social Value role, which I absolutely love. I most enjoy writing tender responses because they're like mini essays.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I am given a lot of responsibility and freedom to complete my work.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The pay could be higher, especially compared to competitors. It sometimes feels as if you have to 'play the game' to get a pay rise or promotion, or you'll be left behind.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Very well. The skills and exposure I've received are top notch, and the confidence I feel in my role is unmatchable.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Moreso my day-to-day role than formal training. I felt that Mott Mac have supported me properly into the skills I wanted to develop.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

Yes for the most part- the only specific thing I felt wasn't matched was a clear picture of what I would be doing on projects in the first year. I think it's hard to resource roles properly, but some more insights on what the roles on projects actually looked like would have been useful.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Mott MacDonald?
I think it's a relatively standard application process. Prepare for strengths based questions at interview that focus on behaviours and skills.
