Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working within the team, employees around the business and external suppliers. Assisting in accounts payable, treasury and stock tasks whilst working with the core finance team. Working with stakeholders whilst in the management information team assisting on budget compliance and monthly account preparation.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Loads of responsibility and autonomy throughout the placement. Treated much more as a member of the team as opposed to a 'placement student'.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Massively increased confidence through internal and external business interactions enabling a huge growth in my professional network. Applied skills learnt at uni by putting them into practice, much more confidence in my business acumen. How to present within meetings to much more senior team members.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
From my direct line managers received a huge amount of support, advice and feedback. Truly can't fault my managers at all they were incredible. Also allocated a 'spotter' (mentor!) for the year, I was super lucky with who I was allocated and received loads of support from him, I know others weren't as lucky with who they received but can't fault any of my direct supporters.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Culture is incredible! Honestly everyone around the office is so friendly and welcoming right from the start. I did notice throughout my placement that this is seeming to fade (slowly) but it is changing which is such a shame as the atmosphere when I first started was amazing.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Loved it! I was so lucky with the team I was in as this can have a huge impact on your placement. The majority of my enjoyment was due to working with them.

What advice would you give to others applying to Gymshark
BE YOURSELF! Gymshark is really focused on the person being the right fit for the team they are going into, so as much as you feel the need to be on 'best behaviour' for an interview try and relax into it as it is more of a conversation than an interview! Do your research and prep also, keep up to date with what the company is doing currently and anything new is the Gymshark world (hint: Regent Street!!).
