Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The majority of my work related to Easement/Wayleave agreements and any Injurious Affection cases relating to encroachment on property/land. I would often use online resources to find property and easement comparables, providing strong foundation to evidence our valuations. I was also present on various site visits which involved inspections, updating outdated reports and providing written overviews of sites for a client review. On occasion, I would be tasked to phone agents and propose client lease offers for a property.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
When I first joined, my mentor would walk me through processes step by step, explaining routine procedure and answering questions. Following this, I gained confidence and was monitored from a distance. While check-ups were frequent, by the end of the internship I was able to work independently and was trusted to ask for help when needed. Overall, I was given great opportunities which demonstrates the trust and responsibility instilled in me by Carter Jonas during the internship.
