Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Carter Jonas?
Very positive. I have been here for just under a year now and the experience I've gained in the field as well as the learning in the office from my colleagues has been crucial for my development. I came from a job working on the tools within construction so I did have experience of working on building sites and projects within the residential and private sector, but I had ambitions of moving into a more technical role within building surveying. Carter Jonas has given me the platform to grow how I had hoped, and I am very grateful for their input.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I have worked on a variety of projects and service lines, with particular enjoyment gained from project management and contract administration roles. Regular site attendance, typically one to two visits per week, has allowed me to support both clients and contractors throughout the delivery process. This experience has significantly developed my understanding of JCT contracts and their practical application, while also enabling me to draw upon the knowledge and skills gained from my previous hands-on experience working within the construction industry.

Why?
It's a brilliant working atmosphere and despite having colleagues all around the UK, there is a feeling of togetherness within the company. Everyone is aligned, and this doesn't affect the one-to-one support that is also available.

Depending on the type of role you are applying for, it's important to have a basic understanding of the company as well as the main roles and responsibilities that you are applying for. In my experience, the interview process was easy to understand and follow, and resulted in combination or situational based questions as well as personal, academical and professional.
