Consulting & Analytics Intern Review

Nearly each morning, I was having a meeting with my buddy about how we have finished the previous day and what has to be done on that day. Besides, we were also discussing about what I could do to gain insights about the external topics other than the project I was working on. If there would be an important meeting, we were conducting last checks to further search for improvement ideas. On a regular basis, we were conducting meetings about the process daily.

I was integrated to the project on each and every step. I was working closely with my buddy and if the necessary jobs dis not require sectoral and professional knowledge, I was always given the chance to put value on the jon that the team was working on. If there were any meetings scheduled during the project, I was always invited to join them and always supported to ask questions and reflect ideas on the project.

I am really confident about the fact that I have improved my presentation and research & methodology skills. I gained my insights about consulting from my team but also from Visa University. Furthermore, I gained many insights about global payment system but also how Visa actually dominates the industry. During my project, I had the chance to work closely not only with the consulting teams but with sales, M&A teams. At the end, I could gain important insights about integrated work practices.

During my internship, I had a buddy and a line manager. My buddy was always eligible to answer any questions I had, during the time I was conducting the necessary works on the project. During the meetings, I was always motivated by my buddy and manager to provide reflections on the process. We had official meetings with my line manager, by which I was having close interactions with him to gain professional insights but he was also supporting me on any subject I would have in mind.

The Istanbul office had two floors. However, I always had the chance to get to know the people on the other floors :) We had regular get-together events, in which I had the chance to meet with meet with new people. We were celebrating birthdays and having chit-chat talks about our lives inside and especially outside of Visa. Due to the density of the work, everyone were always nice to each other and did not reflect the stress to anyone :)

I was really glad that I had the chance to spend nearly 2 months in Visa. I was actually concerned about conducting my consulting internship at Visa , as their main concern is not consulting. However, I have worked with an incredible team, who had great experiences about consulting practices and as my internship was terminated, I could notice how professional insights I could gain from my team and their experiences. I loved being a part of such team
