Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Supported the product management team. Think included contributing to commercial analysis and strategy within the market. This could be through executing pricing support and activating promotions for Samsung’s TV key retailers. I also support with the go to market strategy, this could be supporting with the design and copy of Samsung.com’s Product pages and asset design.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
My team were lovely and supported me here and there. My manager was new to being a manager and could have better aligned with me throughout the placement, sometimes communication wasn’t great but I think we’ve both improved throughout the year and developed more of a manager placement relationship however this did hinder my development for the first 6 months.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very fast paced, a bit stressful at times, a lot of pressure to get things right first time because it’s so fast paced, corrections can’t be amended easily

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Overall I would say it’s worthwhile but there was long periods of time where I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d have liked to based on heavy admin tasks as a placement student. Although every now and again there’d be an exciting task where I felt like I was learning more and people properly involved me in project - it depended on that really.

What advice would you give to others applying to Samsung Electronics
Be prepared for how much is going on, and the fact everything goes through a specific approval process so everything needs a lot of time to be done even tho you don’t have time. You need to be proactive
