Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Knight Frank?

Knight Frank is a welcoming, supportive company, dedicated to training graduates from the ground up and supporting them to grow within the company. The office dynamic in Newcastle is friendly and jovial and I felt that I slotted in from day 1. I have received one on one mentoring and support in my role from my colleagues and also explored the roles of the other teams in the office. All queries are met with support and 0 judgement.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

The main feature of Property Management is relationships with clients and tenants alike. As a people person I enjoy visiting the different buildings to see progress in real time, listening to concerns from tenants and clients, and keeping updated flows of conversation with them. I am looking forward to building my client relationships further as I progress. Day to day in the office is always varied, across different buildings, portfolios, budgets, and issues to be dealt with.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
I have always been included in meetings and encouraged to contribute in anyway I can. I have been given increasingly large responsibilities as I have progressed, encouraging me to become a more active and valued member of the team as I have gained experience.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
I have a decent salary for a trainee surveyor and Knight Frank are paying for me to sit my APC as well as helping me complete CPD regularly.
There is also the option to sign up for health insurance through the company for a salary sacrifice, and, when I become chartered, I will be able to apply for a company car.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
The role has set me up with the skills to take on my own clients / building projects. I am trusted to crack on with my own work whilst also shown the support I need whenever I face something new / particularly challenging.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
Every day I experience a new learning opportunity. From my experience I am able to transfer skills into new projects whilst also being supported by my team when facing new challenges.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
The team all sit together and have a constant flow of communication with each other - helping each other with projects and leaning on the more senior members of the team.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
The office is understanding and flexible about personal appointments / needing to work at home as long as it doesn't impact the day job drastically.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Please see above

How would you rate Knight Frank initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
I have experienced no problems in this matter and have always felt welcome.

How would you rate Knight Frank CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
The company grants all employees 2 volunteering days a year and we recently undertook an office wide volunteering day at a local community centre.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Knight Frank to a friend?

Yes

Why?

It is a welcoming, professional company at the top of its game. It is known worldwide for its excellence and experience and yet I have never felt intimidated or unwelcome.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
The recruitment process was a series of interviews and then an overview of the job - all explained clearly and efficiently.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Knight Frank?

Make sure you have plenty of work experience - doesn't necessarily have to be in the company!
