Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Fidelity International?

My colleagues are and have been very welcoming and friendly. The company is aspirational, and the work is also interesting and stimulating. Responsibility was given to me early on, and there is a lot of investment in your development. Overall, it is a very enjoyable and pleasant place to work.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My main responsibilities include carrying out quantitative analysis and research on/for the teams strategies. This involves cleaning, processing, and analysing data to identify useful insights and trends. I am also responsible for communicating ideas, findings, and results clearly to the wider team, helping to turn analysis into practical recommendations.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
I have been given a lot of responsibility with aspects of my work being presented to senior stakeholders and clients,. Additionally, pieces of analysis and research I have done have been implemented in our strategies

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
I would say I am pretty well renumerated for the work I do, pension contributions +benefits are good and there are opportunities to receive a bonus.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I have and continue to learn a lot in my role thanks to both the team and the investment in me by early careers.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
It is a big aspect of the firm that people are willing to sit with you and teach/help you with things. I am continuously working on and developing new skills.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
The support is pretty strong. I have a line manager, grad scheme manager, early careers contact, a 'buddy' who has just come off the grad scheme, and a lot of informal support from colleagues both in and outside of my team. I have regular catch ups with both my manager and buddy.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
I work hard, but I do not feel stressed in my role. I probably work more hours than I need to, but this is because I enjoy the work and want to produce high-quality output. The workload at Fidelity in manageable and the culture is, whilst hardworking, not super high pressure as it can be in many financial institutions.
My schedule is very self-led, and as long as I stay on top of my workload, I have a good degree of flexibility. Within reason, I am able to structure my day in a way that works well for me.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
There is a very positive, aspirational, and friendly atmosphere. I get on very well with my team, and we even have a team run club.
As mentioned, people are very willing to take the time to help you learn and grow. The management structure also feels relatively flat, in the sense that people are approachable and open to discussion regardless of seniority.
It is predominantly office based working (1 day a week from home). Although I mostly choose to come in

How would you rate Fidelity International initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
Lots of DEI based events and recruiting initiatives

How would you rate Fidelity International CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
Lots of promotion for volunteering and charity - additional days off for volunteering days. Fidelity also help you with fundraising for charity

The work is interesting and challenging, and being surrounded by talented people creates a motivating atmosphere. It is the kind of place where you can develop quickly and ask questions to people with a lot of experience.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Fidelity International?

Be genuinely interested and curious about the role and the industry. Try to demonstrate the way you think, rather than only focusing on what you know.
It is also helpful to show your interest through concrete examples, such as previous roles, books you have read, personal projects, university work, or anything else that has helped develop your understanding.
