Completed rotations in European Product Delivery and Client Services, supporting project work, research, reporting, and stakeholder engagement activities. Attended team meetings, shadowing sessions, one-to-ones, and business-wide learning events while developing a broad understanding of asset management, product delivery, client servicing, and cross-functional collaboration.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I was given a good level of responsibility throughout both rotations, including contributing to projects, supporting team initiatives, analysing data, and presenting my work. I felt challenged, trusted, and able to make meaningful contributions while continuing to learn and develop professionally.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received an exceptional level of support and guidance throughout my internship. Everyone was incredibly generous with their time, knowledge, and willingness to help me learn. I was encouraged to ask questions, attend meetings, and gain exposure to different areas of the business. My managers, buddies, colleagues, and the Early Careers team all played a significant role in my development, providing valuable mentorship, constructive feedback, and continuous support. Their investment in my learning made the experience both enjoyable and highly rewarding.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was incredibly welcoming, supportive, and collaborative. From day one, everyone was approachable and genuinely willing to help, regardless of their role or seniority. Colleagues were extremely generous with their time and knowledge, and I always felt comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance. The open-plan office and inclusive environment encouraged communication and collaboration across teams, creating a culture where learning and development were strongly supported. There was no sense of a strict hierarchy, and I felt valued and included throughout my internship.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. It genuinely exceeded my expectations and was one of the most valuable and enjoyable experiences of my professional and academic journey so far. I was consistently challenged, supported, and encouraged to learn, and every day brought new opportunities to develop my skills and broaden my understanding of the industry. I couldn't have asked for a better internship experience.

What advice would you give to others applying to Fidelity International
My advice to anyone applying to Fidelity International would be to take the time to understand the company, its values, and the work it does. Demonstrating genuine interest in the business and reflecting Fidelity's values through your application and interviews can help you stand out.
Beyond that, be enthusiastic, curious, and open to learning. You don't need to have all the answers from the outset, but showing a willingness to learn, ask questions, and make the most of every opportunity will take you a long way. Throughout my internship, I found that people were incredibly supportive and eager to share their knowledge, so being proactive and making the most of those opportunities is something I would highly recommend.
Finally, make the most of everything the internship has to offer. Attend networking events, speak to people across different teams, ask questions, and step outside your comfort zone. Some of my most valuable learning came from opportunities both within and beyond my day-to-day responsibilities, allowing me to develop a broader understanding of Fidelity, the asset management industry, and the variety of career paths available.
