Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

I loved my experience at JLR - the flexibility I got in the placements I went on really worked well for me and gave the chance to gain exposure to the areas of the business I wanted to. However, I was disappointed with my Home Team - applying for a Vehicle Programmes pathway - I felt the team I was placed in did not match the Graduate pathway I chose.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

Regulations - Data entry primarily
Product Strategy - Delivered KO evidence for 12+ GPS deliverables, providing robust, on‑time inputs for programme gateway decisions.
Coordinated KO content and stakeholder alignment, resolving blockers and ensuring maturity progression across functions.
Reviewed deep‑dive evidence and change impacts, supporting clear, data‑driven programme decisions.
Managed financial scenarios and benchmark data, creating a single source of truth that strengthened programme financial transparency.
Vehicle Integration:
Led Non‑Driven Attribute teams through two key programme Attribute Reviews, driving clarity and alignment.
Managed programme Feature Content maturity using the new Systems Engineering framework (deep dives, scaling, changes, maturity tracking).
Ran and documented Attribute Review meetings, delivering clear status, actions, and decisions.
Delivered a cross‑functional Feature Demonstration, enabling feature owners to showcase capability and dependencies.
Strategic Partnerships & Corp Dev:
Build strategic insight into how partnerships drive value.
Learn core commercial and deal‑execution fundamentals.
Understand due‑diligence and business‑case development.
Exposure to enterprise level strategy building across multiple chapters.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

4/5
I have been able to make real contributions to the teams I have worked in throughout the graduate scheme and felt a great level of trust from the managers I have worked with. This allowed me to really excel in a variety of positions across the business and gain invaluable experiences.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

4/5
I feel that the the pay is very fair and there are many perks to working for a company that makes products that provide truly amazing experiences.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I was able to handpick placements to my liking and was encouraged to network across various areas of the business. The freedom allowed is dependent on your graduate pathway, but it can enable you to tailor your placements around a desired future career path, giving you exposure and experience in areas of your choosing.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5
The formal training I found very valuable and the teams I spent time on placement with were extremely valuable to my development through day to day coaching and target setting.
However my home team were not in a position to provide the relevant support needed for the number of Early Careers colleagues they were allocated, which was disappointing.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

3/5
The Early Careers cohort leads were brilliant - I would maybe like to see a more direct link to actual HR to encourage good practice and communication with the graduates. There were numerous buddy systems that worked well and in general the company culture is brilliant the majority of colleagues I spoke to were always happy to offer advice as and when.
The line manager in my home team wasn't amazing and wasn't able to offer support needed for graduates so I think better care could be taken in that process.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
The work life balance is in general really good across JLR and timely finishes are common practice. I have had access to physiotherapy support, and regular wellbeing walks are encouraged within teams. There are multiple mental health first aiders and support for staff is well advertised.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
I think across most chapters there is a strong dedication to the company values of the creators code and it seems they are only investing more into that.

How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
JLR is vocal across the company in regards to DE&I and is genuinely follows through with it's stances.

How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
Volunteering time is given to every employee each year and is encouraged through department initiatives, we have a strong commitment to sustainability and charities alike.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I think it's a great place to work with good work-life balance and is great to be working on brilliant products like ours. Overall an enjoyable place of work.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

1/5
I expected the role to be more suited to the pathway I had applied to even though the chapter was mentioned in the job description the role is not what I expected at all and I was disappointed with what I was given.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?

Ensure to familiarise yourself with company core values, headwinds, recent trends in industry, JLR strategies and more
Demonstrate and evidence strong non technical skills in addition to technical ones
