Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

Very enjoyable, surrounded by supportive colleagues and responsible for interesting work.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have completed rotations within Global Manufacturing Engineering teams including: Facilities, Process, Standards & Controls within both the Paint Technology and Trim & Assembly Halls.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

4/5
My work is utilised in the team, my projects are implemented and installed in the factory.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

3/5
One of the best perks is the 'Invest in you' scheme where you are given credits to participate in extra curricular activities. During my time at the company I have completed: a week rock climbing course, 3 week photography course and 6 week pottery wheel throwing course.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

4/5
I am interested in engineering project management roles in the future which is in alignment with the work I do in the Facilities team.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5
I am developing a lot in this role, I have completed many courses and have had the opportunity to learn skills beyond those that are required for the role.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
My manager and lead engineer are very supportive of my growth and development - I have many 1:1 sessions to discuss my growth plan.

How is your work-life balance?

2/5
I am in office most days, including weekends, bank holidays and statutory holidays. There is not much flexibility to WFH within the manufacturing space.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

4/5
Great culture - depending where in the business. Still sometimes difficult being a woman on the shop floor but managers are supportive during challenges.
Remote working is very dependant on where you work in the business - very rare in manufcaturing.

How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
Many networks to get involved in.

How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

4/5
Great sustainability initiatives to get involved in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Supportive

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

3/5
Quite different to what I thought was the role - you may not have placements/ rotations depending on your manager, huge disparity in experiences between graduates.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?

Take your time! You are not expected to know everything - and at JLR this is impossible.
