Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

My experience at JLR has been very positive, the people are great, the work is engaging and so far I'm very happy with the company.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My main role responsibilities are pipeline management, dashboard fixing and dataset provisioning. This requires consistent conversations with stakeholders, users and other engineers to ensure our processes are providing accurate, trustworthy data consistently.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
I have my own workstreams, my own products I'm in charge of and things that I fix personally. This means I'm providing genuine value to the end-users and my work helps them do their jobs and make decisions, so I feel valued.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

4/5
The salary is good for straight from University, the private healthcare is not as thorough as some previous employments but so far I haven't had to use it so can't comment on it's effectiveness.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
The core skills programme is teaching me invaluable things that will be useful for my whole career, the people skills and delegating will certainly be useful too. The role has a great balance of building technical skills whilst also dealing with people and the skills associated with that.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
The support is perfect, whether that is line managers or my colleagues and friends. They all want the best for me and understand teaching me how to do things improves everyone's experience and efficiency.

How is your work-life balance?

3/5
The work is quite variable, combined with extra-curricular commitments outside my role I can find myself working considerable extra hours some days/weeks to meet goals. This is less from pressure within the workplace however and more a personal desire to achieve what I set out to and what I've promised people I'll do.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

4/5
Everything is very inclusive and positive, the hybrid working is very relaxed and so the atmosphere is often productive and cheery. People who are in the office want to be there, and that's a nice place to be.

How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

4/5

How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?

Yes

Why?

The work is exciting, I'm very passionate about the vehicles and products we offer, it's easy to be enthusiastic about these amazing cars at the forefront of luxury and seeing new vehicles driving around is super cool. The hybrid working is great for being able to adapt to life's changes and really lets work move around your personal life as opposed to the other way around.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

3/5
I wasn't very knowledgeable on the dataspace when I first applied for the role so the intricacies of what I could be doing wasn't explained very thoroughly during the recruitment process. It isn't made obvious the variety of what you could be doing.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?

Just show your passion for what JLR does, an eagerness to learn and give examples of some great problem solving you've done.
