Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Dev Ops Engineer - Creating and maintaining infrastructure which helps software teams deliver features faster and keeps systems reliable. We have planning calls where we pick up tickets for the week, we also have a couple of standup calls in the week where we tell the team what we are working on and if we need any help with anything.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, after the first few weeks where I was being onboarded and introduced to the team I was then treated like a regular member of the team. I pick up tickets that anyone on the team could pick up and I am always given things to work on and I have to make sure it is completed fully.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have used Kubernetes, terraform, Python, Go. It has been really cool to see how the python I learnt in uni can be used in industry. I have also presented quite a bit to school students and the office so have developed my communication and public speaking skills.
