Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

Amazing, lovely work schedule with good work from home days, good benefits, salary is good, work environment is very healthy and relaxed, I feel free to be myself.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I do multiple rotations in different areas, starting with a bootcamp to make sure I'm competent for the role. These responsibilities range from data exploration, engineering, analysis to having to actually participate in building the car for a week. I really enjoy the technical aspects of the role and being able to experience different areas to see what I like the most.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
My role allows me to get stuck in the work that I do and contribute to highly impactful jobs. I've worked on projects that have had company wide effects and been able to contribute to work where I can see the effect it has around me.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
I think the perks are great for the work that I do, although I don't get to lease a car or anything (which would be amazing), I get to see lovely new cars on display whenever I'm in, there are always stalls with new experiences that I can sign up for, they let me drive their flagship cars in special terrain, I can work from home, and I have really fun company socials.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I feel like the role really prepares me to work independently, even though I frequently ask for help and get the help I need, I'm allowed to work individually and am made to do real work, while at the same time having 20% of my time back to work on my own projects and development.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
I have gained plenty of skills, both soft and hard skills, throughout my journey at JLR, and the training they facilitate and allow me to do is perfect for me to excel and become a greater version of myself.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
I receive amazing support from my colleagues and higher ups

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
The company is extremely considerate of my personal life, and have even let me leave office with no leave if I need to e.g. Go to a GP appointment, deal with a personal problem. My manager is happy with me leaving early as long as I make my time back, and this flexibility allows me to work at my best as I'm never working while stressed about personal life and can fully focus on my work.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
The atmosphere is very nice and everyone I've met is genuinely amazing, I feel very welcome in the office and it is arguably more appealing than working at home with my family sometimes.

How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
There are plenty of initiatives for equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility and I love the efforts JLR are making to be equally accessible for all.

How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

3/5
I'm unaware of any CSR initiatives, maybe because of my role, so I can't speak fairly on this.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I feel like it's a lovely place where you can be yourself and I'd love for my friends to experience this as well.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
I think the role exceeded my expectations based on the recruitment process as I had a very boring idea of what your usual 9-5 would look like and this is nothing like what I thought it would be (in a good way).

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?

I think people might be really concerned with showing an interest for cars and the automotive industry, but I think they just need to see a passion for the company and good character, I'm not the biggest car fanatic but I like what JLR do (I couldn't even name all the cars) and that was enough for them to accept me.
