Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

There were no two days that were the same working at Gymshark, which I think makes it exciting! Some of my responsibilities included implementing a new benefit within the Pay & Perks team, supporting training sessions within the Performance team, taking the lead in planning events for interns and implementing a new intelligent hiring platform within the Talent team. I was also involved with Diversity and Inclusion by bringing awareness on certain topics to employees!

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Definitely, I was given responsibilities that has massively helped with my self development!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I’ve learnt how to communicate better within an organisation as we’d often collaborate with employees across the business, both in the U.K. and internationally! I’ve also learnt to ask for constructive feedback often in order to gain more confidence and to continuously improve my work.

Everyone at Gymshark is willing to help you, which is why I’m so fond of the company. My manager and teammates would have regular check-ins with me to see if I need support or if I had any questions to ask.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I absolutely loved it! Gymshark definitely works hard and plays hard. We’d have quarterly social events for the interns, had a huge summer party for the whole company, and have nights out with your team!
