Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

- Personal Assistant for high-volume diary management, travel, expenses and meeting coordianation for three senior Sales Execs with multiple time zones
- Adminstrative and creative support in preparation for international markets and events for 200+ clients
- Manage, update and track catalogue titles, send screening materials and learn internal databases & sales systems to update deal information
- Working on presentation decks for pitches and internal meetings

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Definitely, coordinating meetings with major international clients and processing large expenses. I was also trusted to build a graphic design style for the team and take on additional projects where I could contribute with my skills and interests.

Much support and guidance with genuine care for how I was developing in line with personal and set goals via my Manager. The team was very encouraging and proactive about making as many opportunities as possible for me to get an insight into different areas of sales and production.

What advice would you give to others applying to NBCUniversal

Be open-minded and curious - you never know what might interest you! Learn as much about the different areas of the business as you can and dig deeper into the ones that intrigue you the most. While your role may not be as directly related to your own interests at first, you can learn a lot about the kinds of areas you may want to develop in by proactively sharing your interests. Remember that it is brilliant training for skills many jobs require and a great ground to learn about a business and industry from the inside.
Also, enjoy being in a cohort of people all keen to explore a similar industry! Make the effort to meet with other interns as well as people already at NBCU.
