Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work across both the Insights and Live Commerce teams, managing reporting across our TV and DA categories and presenting key findings to senior leadership. I also lead the briefing and setup of our live commerce streams, collaborating with internal teams to align on offers, coordinating with the social team on influencer partnerships, and working closely with MX Studio on production setup.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I’ve really enjoyed the apprenticeship so far and it’s given me some fantastic experiences. One area that could be improved is the communication between the university and the employer. At times, the course structure at London South Bank University can feel a bit unorganised, which can make it more challenging to stay on track, but overall it’s still been a very valuable experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed loads of new skills especially through work I have learnt data analytics skills, stakeholder management and loads more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I feel the programme is still developing, the university includes a number of compliance-driven or “tick-box” activities, which can sometimes take priority over more meaningful learning opportunities, leaving a few gaps in the overall experience.
For example, the off-the-job requirement requires a significant amount of time to log, but it doesn’t always feel fully aligned with how we work day to day. As the final EPA is focused on demonstrating specific KSBs for particular activities, this element can feel less directly relevant, and that time might be better balanced alongside assignment work.
I also think there’s an opportunity to improve communication and alignment between Pearson, LSBU, and the employer, as expectations and processes can sometimes feel unclear.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The onboarding support was really helpful, and the experiences I’ve had throughout the programme have been excellent. A huge credit goes to the teams I’ve worked with—they’ve been incredibly supportive and have played a big role in my development, which I’m very grateful for.
In the final year, the support hasn’t felt quite as strong, and I think this links to some of the wider communication challenges. At times, it’s been unclear what the roles and responsibilities are in this final stage and where support should come from. That said, the study leave has been particularly valuable, as it’s given me dedicated time to focus on my assignments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The support from individual lecturers has been excellent, and their guidance has been really valuable throughout the programme. However, at an overall level, the university programme can feel somewhat unstructured, with more limited visibility and support from the wider department leadership.
While there are regular opportunities to provide feedback, it can sometimes feel as though this isn’t fully reflected in any noticeable changes, which can be a bit frustrating.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I actually feel as though its the other way my work massively helped with my university
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of opportunities available, which is a huge benefit of the programme that Samsung provides. These include team socials, apprenticeship awards, and networking events, all of which add real value to the overall experience.
