Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role covers maintaining studios, helping to design and install new radio and TV studios/galleries and getting a knowledge of how to operate broadcast systems and production practises. half my time is spent at university studying to get a BEng.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The program is extremaly enjoyable with a good support network, there is lots of variety in where you work and opportunity to try and learn so many different areas of broadcasting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, on the degree apprenticeship scheme you will spend half your time learning. I've learnt so much in areas I did not know were so important in broadcasting and practical hands on learning you would not be able to do anywhere else.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised, clear structured layout of when studying time is allocated and when work hours are, employers regularly send opportunies for new experiences and opportunies to get involved in. Training provider sometimes lacks in co-ordination.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots of support, regular check ins and updates on welfare

The modules are tailored for the course so everything you learn is very important and relavant to the role

There are monthly apprecntice socials based on which office location you work in which lets you meet other apprentices on different schemes and try new activities.
