Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
Logistical/ Production support (e.g. sorting travel/accom, licensing, post-paperwork, finding/ interviewing talent, sorting shoots, etc).

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
Enjoy the people and creative space but would like to move to more editorial roles

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Entered a completley new landscape as I had never worked in media before and it's given me an outlook and hands-on experience of the industry. Made good connections and the company is keen to keep apprentices on.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

3/5
Could be better with the communicating training dates with work dates as it doesn't allow for much flexibility, most apprentices are working in different departments which require different flexibilities.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

4/5
Line manager and direct contact are very helpful and understanding on a human level, can put in support through occupational health or coaching sessions, etc. They try their best.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
Understanding and flexible team on both the academic and work side of things, very grateful.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/5
Some things you notice pop-up in your day to day from learning but I feel is best learnt when doing the job role, possibly looking for better way to implement learnings into practice and make it less assignment based.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

2/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Gives you leverage by just getting your foot in the door, a very creative and people-driven company, great for like-minded individuals.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?

Be authentic (ideally creative and open-minded), confident (don't allow the big name to cause imposter syndrome), and show willingness to learn and grow.
