Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I work as a My Contribution (MyC) Business Partner, acting as a central link between senior leadership, business units and the wider MyC team. On a day-to-day basis, my role focuses on embedding MyC into business as usual, ensuring it is positioned as a key listening channel that enables employees to share ideas and contribute to delivering business strategy.
My responsibilities include managing and progressing employee ideas through the MyC process, ensuring momentum is maintained, barriers are addressed, and benefits are captured. I regularly work with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to support decision-making, run targeted campaigns, and align MyC activity to strategic priorities.
I also lead and support a network of MyC Leads across the business, providing training, coaching, tools and guidance to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for employees. Alongside this, I focus on communications, engagement and reporting — showcasing success, monitoring performance against KPIs, and using insight to continuously improve how MyC operates and delivers value for the organisation.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme and rated it five stars. The content aligned perfectly with my day-to-day role as a business partner, particularly in supporting change and driving engagement across the business. The programme provided me with practical tools, frameworks and guidance that have strengthened my understanding of change management and how to apply this in a real organisational context.
I particularly valued the flexibility of the course, which allowed me to balance my learning alongside a full and varied workload. The fully virtual delivery suited my learning style well, and I found the coursework and project-based approach especially engaging. This style of learning was new to me, but I have really enjoyed the opportunity to apply learning through practical projects and reflective coursework, which has helped embed my understanding and confidence.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Through the Business Transformation Fellowship, I have both developed existing skills and gained new capabilities that strongly align with a Business Analyst and change management skillset. The programme strengthened my ability to analyse business problems, understand stakeholder needs, and translate these into clear, practical recommendations that support organisational change.
I have further developed skills in structured problem definition, benefits realisation, and data‑informed decision‑making, which directly support my day‑to‑day responsibilities as a business partner. The coursework and project‑based learning enhanced my ability to assess current‑state processes, define future‑state improvements, and track outcomes against strategic objectives — all core business analysis skills.
From a change management perspective, the programme has improved my understanding of how change is experienced across different stakeholder groups. I have developed stronger skills in change impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and embedding change into business as usual. This has strengthened my confidence in supporting leaders and teams through change, ensuring initiatives are not only implemented but sustained.
Overall, the fellowship has enhanced my ability to operate as a strategic partner — combining analytical thinking with people‑centred change approaches — and has given me practical frameworks and confidence to apply these skills directly in my role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is very well organised and clearly structured. The learning journey was logical, with modules building progressively on one another and linking theory to practical application. Clear milestones, coursework guidance and well‑defined expectations meant I always understood what was required and how each element contributed to the overall qualification. This structure made it easy to manage alongside my role and supported meaningful application of learning into my day‑to‑day work.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer. There is strong encouragement to apply learning directly into my role, with flexibility provided to balance work commitments alongside study requirements. My role actively supports business transformation and change, which meant the programme was highly relevant and well supported by my wider team and stakeholders.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
Overall, the support I have received has been very strong. There was some initial challenge with learning support being delivered via a third‑party provider, which at times made access to support and resources less straightforward. As someone with dyslexia, clear guidance, structure and timely access to materials is particularly important, and this was something I was conscious of early on in the programme.
However, this was very effectively balanced by the excellent support from my coach, who has been fantastic throughout. They have ensured I have had access to the right resources, tools and guidance, particularly in preparation for my End Point Assessment. Their proactive approach, flexibility and understanding of individual learning needs has made a significant difference and has ensured I have felt fully supported and confident in completing the qualification successfully.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The qualification has significantly enhanced my ability to perform more effectively in my role. It has strengthened my analytical, problem‑solving and change management skills, enabling me to take a more structured and strategic approach to business challenges. The tools and frameworks gained through the programme have improved how I assess change impacts, engage stakeholders and embed change into business as usual, directly adding value to my role as a business partner.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes, there are a variety of extra‑curricular opportunities available, including professional networks, employee forums and engagement groups. These provide opportunities to collaborate across the business, share best practice and support continuous development beyond the formal role. Involvement in these activities complements my learning and helps broaden my professional network and experience.
