Welcome children in, breakfast, choosing time, focus time, nappy changing, lunch, tea, snacks, putting children to sleep, parent handover, setting up activities.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Really enjoyable and great learning new things all the time. Increase of confidence is amazing!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Both learnt and developed skills. Learnt nappy changing and am getting quicker at them. Developing existing skills such as time management and have amazing support from all around in the nursery. Am constantly learning and love it!

Very well structured, have been able to implement what I’m learning on apprenticeship to the role!

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Amazing support, everyone is so welcoming and you learn so much every day. The nursery manager is exceptional and the staff behind the scenes in head office reply quickly to queries.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Great support, extra time put into me for my additional needs of ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Why?

Hungry caterpillars is an amazing place to work. Everyone is so warm and inviting, your successes are celebrated and the children get a lot out of what you teach/learn! Management are understanding and patient, making you want to do more and be better!

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries?

Be yourself, authenticity is needed to develop your own teaching skill and work on your weaknesses. Everyone will be there to help, guide and pick you up if your feeling down!
