Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I do service accounting for the Chief Executive directorate of Hackney
This involves meeting with budget holders for departments such as legal, elections, and communication of the borough
We are expected to an annual financial cycle of setting budgets, monitoring where spend/income occurs, and finalising an outturn
On a day to day basis this involves meetings (hybrid), spreadsheet skills, and a developing knowledge of finance which is helped by colleagues at the workplace and trainers at college

Plenty, as mentioned before from spreadsheets to liaising with people
I've had to do group presentations and host many video calls where I am the finance expert
This was an ability honed by the scheme as I entered as a history graduate with no prior finance knowledge
