Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day, I handle a range of finance and administrative tasks, including transaction processing and bank reconciliations to ensure records are accurate. I manage invoicing for clients and funders, oversee credit control to track and follow up on outstanding payments, and carry out payment runs. I also process employee expenses, respond to queries and provide support.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme to a great extent. It is very hands-on, which makes the learning engaging and practical. I find it easy to apply what I learn directly to my work, allowing me to build real-world experience alongside my studies.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learned several new skills and developed existing ones. I have gained a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT treatment, both of which were new to me. I have also improved my business awareness and developed my knowledge of Xero, allowing me to work more confidently and efficiently.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Yes the structure is very good with modules and then at the end of each module there is the exam so you are studying for one at a time and not having one exam at the end for 15 months worth of content.
Tasks are set with clear deadlines well in advance and communication is very strong between both my employer and training provider to be able to continue with a good balance of work and studying.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from Althaus Digital throughout my programme. They been very supportive in providing me with the time, flexibility, and encouragement needed to balance my studies alongside my role. My line manager is also very supportive and always makes time to go through new concepts with me, which has been invaluable to my learning and development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a high level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. We have progress reviews every 10 weeks involving both myself and my line manager, which helps keep me on track and if I need to bring anything up. I also attend in-person sessions each week alongside other students and my mentor is always available to email whenever I need additional help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My studies support my role very well. The knowledge and skills I gain through the programme can be applied directly to my day-to-day work, which helps me perform my tasks more accurately and confidently. It has improved my understanding of key areas and allows me to perform more effectively in my role.
