Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am responsible for leading the people function across the business and ensuring our employees are supported, engaged, and able to perform at their best. My role involves overseeing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and wider people strategy initiatives.
A key part of my role is driving continuous improvement within the organisation, including implementing people initiatives, supporting professional development opportunities, and using data and feedback to improve employee experience and business performance.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy my programme and find it both valuable and engaging. It has helped me develop new skills and broaden my knowledge in areas that directly support my role as Head of People. I particularly enjoy being able to apply what I learn in real workplace situations, as this helps reinforce my understanding and contributes positively to both my professional development and the business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Yes, I have developed a range of both new and existing skills throughout the programme. One of the key areas of development has been my understanding of HR legislation, particularly the Employment Rights Act 1996 and how it applies in practice within the workplace. This has strengthened my knowledge around employee rights, contracts, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy processes, and employer responsibilities.
The programme has also helped me further develop my communication, leadership, problem-solving, and people management skills. I have become more confident in handling complex employee relations matters, supporting managers with HR processes, and ensuring policies and procedures remain compliant and fair. Overall, the learning has had a direct positive impact on my day-to-day role as Head of People.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is well organised and structured, with clear objectives and a good balance between learning and practical application. The modules are delivered in a logical order, which makes it easier to build knowledge over time and relate it back to my role within the business.
I have found the support from tutors and assessors to be helpful and consistent, and the programme expectations, deadlines, and requirements are communicated clearly. The combination of workshops, independent learning, and workplace application has made the programme engaging and manageable alongside my day-to-day responsibilities as Head of People.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a great deal of support from my employer throughout my programme. Althaus Digital has been very supportive in allowing me the time, flexibility, and encouragement needed to balance my studies alongside my role.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive a high level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualification. My tutor/assessor is approachable, knowledgeable, and consistently available to provide guidance when needed. They help me understand the requirements of the programme, give clear feedback on my work, and support me in applying my learning effectively within my role .

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I would advise anyone applying to Althaus Digital to be open, enthusiastic, and willing to learn. The organisation values people who are proactive, adaptable, and keen to develop their skills, so showing a genuine interest in growth and development is important.
It also helps to demonstrate strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, as teamwork is a key part of the culture. Being comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to take initiative will go a long way, as you’re often trusted with responsibility early on.
