Overall, how would you describe your experience at West Sussex County Council?

My experience of working for West Sussex County Council has been overwhelmingly positive. WSCC has provided a supportive and values‑driven environment where people are trusted, listened to, and encouraged to do their best work. I have particularly valued the strong focus on collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement, alongside a genuine commitment to staff development, wellbeing and flexibility. There is a clear sense of purpose in the work we do, knowing it makes a real difference for residents and communities across the county, and I have felt supported to grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to wider organisational priorities.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

Promote inclusive and accessible learning, ensuring opportunities are equitable, relevant, and responsive to diverse needs
Work in partnership with leaders, managers, and teams to embed learning into everyday practice and support effective people management.
