Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
Hospital Social Work is fast paced, with no 2 days being the same. Our team support with hospital discharges from the wards and emergency floor. We also review provisions initially in the community to ensure discharges have gone to plan and the correct provisions are in place.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
The degree apprenticeship is a great way of supporting existing employee's to gain higher education and additional qualifications. The staff at the University are incredibly supportive and the Apprenticeship team at West Sussex provide lot's of additional mentoring support.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I've nearly completed year 1 of the degree apprenticeship and feel more confident in my role already. I am looking forward to putting the skills I have learnt into practise further in Year 2 and 3.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is thought out and structured well to ensure that we get the best from every module.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My employer has been brilliant with providing support when neccessary. I am able to book study leave with my manager to enable me to meet assignment deadlines.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
There is alot of support available however, I do not feel I have accessed this enough currently to comment.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
Becoming a qualified Social Worker will bring more authority, competence and assurance. Including a pay increase :P!

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
