My role involved designing and delivering exceptional user experiences for BBC users across various products and platforms. The role was varied and I gained experience with UX/UI design, user research, running workshops and more across many different teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoyed my programme as it led me to discovering my passion and obsession with UX design. I had opportinuites to work on established products such as BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport, which I never envisioned. I gained lots of experience collaborating with individuals from various disciplines which was always enjoyable and beneficial.

Skills Development

5/5
My skills and knowledge of UX design developed significantaily throughout my scheme. I learnt how to use specialist programs and tools to create expereinces for various different products and platforms such as TV. Also, I developed a strong understanding and ability to carry out user research. During my placements, I faciliated user interviews, surveys and more which I was very proud of.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme was mostly well structured and during the first few years I was able to rotate to different teams every 6 months which was exciting. However, near the latter end of my scheme, there were less rotations and a lack of communication about it which usually made me feel frustruated and anxious.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received lots of support from my line manager and colleagues for my work and university commitments. For my university commitments, my line manager was very flexible and ensured that I had time to focus on university work and assignments. Also, my line manager took the time to help me set job and career goals and took strides to help me achieve them.
