Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
At the start of the internship I joined a development team, and they set me and one other intern a task to work on together throughout the course of the internship. Each day we would report to them in a stand up, say what we did and what we will be doing then work on the project independently for the rest of the day with guidance and advice from the team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, the project was very independent, working on features that were actually needed to be implemented into their software. We were trusted to develop this feature to the required standard and be able to report to product owners for feedback and advice on how to improve it further.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Technically, my C++ programming skills have developed immensely, and also things like using Git efficiently and working my way around a large code base has become second nature. Apart from that my communication skills have developed well and I am much more confident asking for help and gaining information I need to progress.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Any time we had any questions we would be helped without hesitation, and we were actively encouraged to ask whenever we needed it. We were very free to take the project in any direction we would like, and guided in the right direction to get to the desired product.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Autodesk's atmosphere and culture is amazing, it is incredibly welcoming and inclusive. It is never hard to talk to anyone around the office and there was also no shortage of fun events and table football with people from all around the office on my lunch break.

Never be afraid to ask for help and know that settling in is extremely easy, everyone is welcomed. Don't be afraid of not having the same skills as anyone else because Autodesk offers opportunity to learn new skills all the time.
