Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I support the development of non-scripted content at BBC Studios, contributing to the early stages of idea generation and project research. Day to day, I assist with tasks such as researching formats and talent, preparing development materials, and working closely with the team to help shape and refine concepts as they move towards production.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy the role, as I’m part of a supportive and collaborative team who make the work both rewarding and enjoyable. It’s a great environment to grow in, and I particularly love the creative side of the job—being involved in developing new ideas and helping shape them into something tangible.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I’ve developed a wide range of new skills in this role, from contributing to pitches and creating pitch decks to experimenting with AI tools and designing visual materials like posters. It’s been a hands-on experience that’s allowed me to build both my creative and technical abilities across different areas of development.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is very well organised and structured, which has made it easy to settle in and progress. I feel really supported throughout, with clear guidance and encouragement that has helped me build confidence and get the most out of the experience.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a huge amount of support from my employer, and there’s always someone available to talk to if I need guidance or have any questions. It’s a really reassuring environment where I feel comfortable reaching out about anything, both professionally and personally.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. There are regular emails, helpful drop-in sessions, and they’re always quick to respond to any questions or queries, which makes the whole process feel well supported and easy to manage.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The qualification really helps me perform better in my role, as the skills I’m learning through the training provider give me a strong foundation to build on. It makes me feel more prepared and confident in the office, knowing I have that ongoing training to support my development.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes, there are lots of opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities at work. In particular, there are great options for apprentices, including learning events, networking opportunities, and social activities, which make it easy to connect with others and get more out of the experience.
