My role as a support worker is to support individuals in day to day life and to help individuals progress themselves and their lives, which allows vulnerable individuals to live the best life possible by promoting their independence and always helping them to achieve their goals no matter how big or small
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love my job, the job is so rewarding and I love helping the individuals I support that have faced so much unnecessary prejudice within their lives and helping them to develop, grow as individuals and live the best life they possibly can
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I now understand my role on a deeper level and the qualification helped me to progress into a higher role from a support worker to a team leader, the qualification goes into a lot of detail and this is very helpful and something I can now reflect in my work on a daily basis
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The qualification was managed very well, the company I done it with was ELA training, ELA were amazing and really helped me to finish and made me feel comfortable throughout, LDC was also very helpful throughout and no question was too big or too small, overall the qualification was structured effectively and efficiently
How much support do you receive from your employer?

LDC were extremely helpful and offered me any support I needed when I needed it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My Training provider ELA training were amazing, they really helped me to succeed and achieve and even when I was panicking they both went above and beyond to help and reassure me, I honestly can’t thank either of them enough
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I now have a much deeper and better understating of my job role and I now feel like I don’t need to ask anyone as many questions as from completing the qualification I feel like I have a vast amount of knowledge
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not exactly, but the individual we support do so we always support them to do any sort of activities like this and by doing so we can get involved

Why?
I already have done this with one of my friends and he now has also been in the company for a few years, he is also now a valued member of staff at LDC and this fills me with joy
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LDC Care Company Ltd.?
Expect the unexpected, do not listen to so called “horror stories” as although these may be true events, Individuals moods and mindsets can change in a matter of seconds let alone hours, days, weeks and months, never become complacent as anything can happen at any time but most importantly enjoy building bonds and relationships with the individuals you support
