Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
The role of a data analyst involves supplying stakeholders with relevant data through dashboards, reports and spreadsheets. This data is often pulled through using SQL code on Amazon Redshift and demands great care/maintenance to ensure accuracy.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
Very well-structured, have learnt so much.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Being someone who had never coded before this, I have learnt various coding languages through both work and uni on this course. This was done both theoretically and practically, making the learnings much easier to grasp.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
Very well organised, the balance between uni and work is tough but manageable.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
Plenty of support. I have a line manager, mentor and buddy who I can come to with any relevant problems.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
Where needed additional study time is given particularly when an assignment is due or an exam is coming up.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
Learning one coding language makes another much easier to learn. I have used the Python/SQL learnings from my uni course directly in my job role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Plenty of social activities with various apprentices of a multitude of backgrounds, this can be seen as networking or just simply making friends.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Great company for apprentices given the huge network of people from different backgrounds it contains. Colleagues are extremely friendly, supporting and always happy to answer any questions you may have, no matter how simple or complex.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?

Do your research and work hard of course but mostly just be yourself. Confidence in yourself in an interview is key.
