Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I spend a lot of time in the training team for our heating and cooling products. I develop online training modules for technical and non-technical people. I also spend time in pre-sales team looking at design and application.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have very good relationships with my colleagues and my team. I feel I have a strong support network and people that care about my development. I also feel like I’m always learning which is fun.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Communication skills (verbal & written). As well as enhancing organisational skills and technical knowledge.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

From a Samsung perspective the structure is very much in place and developmental activities are organised for us. However from a college provider perspective there is room for improvement.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager is extremely supportive with me from a work and academic stance. The way he has handled challenging scenarios with the college provider with me and work related situations has been excellent.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Had a very turbulent start to my apprenticeship with my college provider. However the last 6months has seen a noticeable improvement.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Why?
It’s a great experience to work within a huge organisation with extremely high expectations and standards. Plenty of resources and intelligent people to learn from and receive guidance from at the beginning of your working career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Samsung Electronics?
Make sure that Samsung’s culture and values aligns with yourself. You want to make sure that Samsung is going to be a good fit for you and your character in order to maximise the benefits from the experience.
