I am on a rotational role within FinOps. Currently, I support the MX business by ensuring accurate financial control, reporting, and operational support. I help support month‑end close and forecasting activities. I work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure compliance and improve processes

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme to a high extent. It provides strong exposure to real‑world finance operations, allows me to apply my skills in a practical business environment, and gives me regular opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Systems and processes - developed practical experience using finance systems and following end‑to‑end finance processes
Excel - enhanced my excel skills for everyday use, utilising formulas and codes to help automate processes
Problem‑solving - I am more confident in identifying issues, investigating root causes, and proposing solutions

I receive a high level of support from my employer. I have access to guidance from my manager, the ET Team and colleagues whenever needed, regular check‑ins to discuss progress and development.

I receive a really good level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They provide regular check‑ins to track progress and support is easily accessible when I have questions, which helps me stay on track and feel confident balancing my studies with my day‑to‑day role

It helps to a really good extent. The qualification supports what I do at work by strengthening my understanding of key finance concepts and allows me to apply this knowledge directly in my day‑to‑day tasks, helping me feel more confident and effective in my role.

Yes lots of examples - There are activities such as football, FinOps offsite events, apprentice sessions, and residential programmes, which help with networking, teamwork, and development outside of day‑to‑day work.
