Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves working with a research analytics and insights team whereby I look into ways that artificial intelligence could be utilised and help make my team and departments work more efficient.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme, my team is also fantastic so my work doesn't feel stressful but actually enjoyable. I also love the work and projects I have done and are doing since joining.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned so many new skills since joining from my communication skills, project management skills all the way to learning skills and development in artificial intelligence.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My programme is structured well enough but has on occasions been a bit ambiguous in that sometimes I lose direction of where my programme is suppose to be leading me but I have also since been able to help the likes of my line manager on those running my programme understand what it is I personally want from my programme such as the goals and areas I want to move towards and they have been extremely helpful in letting me take responsibility for this which has been really good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is very supportive, I have been lucky enough to work with such amazing people who are always asking if I need help, telling me that they are there for me if I need help whether it is strictly work related or if it is a more out of work issue as well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
My training provider offers support in working towards my qualification but there have been a lot of hiccups in the platforms we have to use for our learning and with some of the communications we have received from them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I would say my training when I first joined was basic and a lo of the information they were providing us was information I had already learned in my spare time so I didn't feel like I was learning anything new at first. It has since gotten better but the pace is slow.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are loads of fun events the BBC has on in terms of Networking and getting to know people. The only thing I wish there was more of was some sports teams or anything similar that is catered just for the younger workers at the BBC as a lot of the clubs there are run by people much older which it is harder to make real friends that way.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is has such a healthy work enviornment and it is an organisation that does put people first and at the heart of everything. I have never once felt like I can't say what is on my mind or ask a difficult question to someone. Everyone who I have met at the BBC is kind and what is best for you and your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Be yourself. Although this is cliche it is true. If you don't show who you really are and what you are interested in - this will be obvious. The BBC especially unlike other employers puts human creativity first and want people who have interesting personalities and ways of thinking so be yourself and you will be successful in applying!
