Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I complete a wide variety of tasks which are supported by other members of the team whilst I am learning. They offer great opportunity to develop my skills across a number of technical operations. These can include, but are not limited to editing, camera operation, shoot edit, directing, sound, lighting and graphics.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am thoroughly enjoying this experience and feel it is a privilege to be working here.

This was a complete career change and so everyday is a learning day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have the support of my apprenticeship specialist, as well as my direct line manager, a mentor on site and the rest of the team within my base.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have never felt unsupported during this process and can always ask for additional guidance if I don't feel fully confident with a task I am completing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have dedicated learning blocks as well as meetings. These feel very supportive and structured, with resources in place to support me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

This has been quintessential in my learning and has offered me the opportunity to be hands-on in a supported learning environment, before utilizing these skills within the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a great deal of networks within this organization as well as opportunities for social activities throughout the year.

This is a fantastic organisation to work for and learn with. They offer support and guidance in a structured way. This allows me to practice and carry out tasks with the knowledge that another individual will be with me if I need any guidance or support throughout.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
This is a very competitive process, so ensure you have done all you can to prepare for each stage of the application process. Read up-to-date literature and immerse yourself in the content created by the BBC. Always make sure to be yourself and answer the questions as honestly as you can.
