Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed existing transferrable skills from my previous career as a primary school teacher. Developed my problem solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and balance my own workload. Developed my communication, presentation and analytical skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Key monthly milestones and submission dates. Weekly study leave to enable me to balance work alongside my study commitments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has provided opportunities to connect with other apprentices, access further self-led learning and funded training, and provided mentorship within my department and outside of it. They also provide support and guidance with apprenticeship queries when required, as well as a separate Programme Induction to my apprenticeship provider;
Ambassadors to support me;
Early Careers Team attend gateway meeting and provide support with mocks and EPA prep, run networking events and NAW activities;
Corporate member of Association of Apprentices;
Credly credentialing of skills;
Celebration and awards events & encourages use of volunteering days to get involved in supporting career fairs and school engagement work.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider is always on hand for any support, questions or guidance. They have been quick to respond to my queries and made me feel confident in my own abilities throughout the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Without a doubt, it provides the necessary learning to underpin the practical experience gathered on the job, as well as introducing me to project management roles and scenarios outside of those in my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Lots of professional networking events, both virtually and in-person. Social activities are also organised but I have yet to get involved in those.

They are willing to provide the necessary training to bring you up to a high professional standard that the company expects, seeing potential in those who may not have direct experience in a particular role but have the transferrable skills and the ambition to take a new career direction.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson?
Be ready for a fast-paced and challenging environment but one where the support and championing of your colleagues empowers you to achieve your goals and beyond.
